George Power, started his working life in the Police, training in Warwickshire, Liverpool and the Merseyside Police. He experienced a number of areas of police work in several departments of the force, gaining  awards throughout his career for saving life, combating crime and vice.  As a result of an injury he retired early.  He was interested in Pain and Stress which in turn lead him to Hypnotherapy and onward toward Psychology.  George began working within that field training as Consultant Clinical Hypnotherapist.  Continuing his study he also  went on to complete a degree with Honours in Applied Psychology.  

 

He gained a teaching and training  certificate and has developed and presented many training courses.

Working within these fields he gained a great deal of experience with many organisation including Cancer Services, for sufferers and relatives affected by stress they incurred.  He carried out training courses and workshops for professionals engaged in many areas, to combat stress for working staff.  Working with an occupational health organisation for a number of years he received referrals from General Practitioners in relation to stress with a great deal of successfull outcomes.  Alongside this he continued to train staff of organisations in addition to creating strategies for employers to reduce stress and become aware of the problems of how to avoid, putting staff under stress.  George has worked with NHS, Ministry of Defence and many other organisations to research advise on how to prevent or reduce stress among their staff.

 

George started what is considered to be, the first “Stress Support Group” in the country and brought many sufferers of stress from the depths of despair, to being  confident, assertive and able to successfully take control of their lives again.

 

He has continued in private practice in England and North Wales for several years, taking some time out for his love of sailing. Having gained certification as a Commercial Yachtmaster  he sailed UK waters, the Mediterranean and completed an Atlantic crossing in a 39 foot yacht, from the Carribean to Liverpool via the Azores.
